Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, presents Commander, U.S. Second Fleet, Vice Adm. Doug Perry, with a proclamation officially declaring Aug. 5-11 as Chicago Navy Week 2024. Chicago Navy Week has returned for the fifth time since 2005, bringing the U.S. Navy's outreach efforts to the city. The week will include various activities to connect Chicago residents with the Navy. These activities will include community engagement events, volunteer work, educational programs, and public events involving more than 75 Sailors across the city, all emphasizing the Navy's commitment to community and service.
