A U.S. Marine Corps F/A Hornet aircraft with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA(AW)) 224, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), is directed by Lance Cpl. Mark Basset, an aircraft ordnance technician within the aircraft’s unit, at Suwon Air Base, South Korea, Aug. 6, 2024. VMFA(AW)-224, known as the Fighting Bengals, are supporting MAG-12, 1st MAW, under the Unit Deployment Program, which aims at providing squadrons experience operating in the Indo-Pacific. The Fighting Bengals traveled to Suwon Air Base, South Korea, to enhance their standard of readiness and lethality with our South Korean allies and joint forces. Basset is a native of Michigan.
