U.S. Army Soldiers with the Wisconsin Army National Guard participate in a combat water survival event during a Jungle Operations Training Course (JOTC) selection gauntlet at Ft. McCoy, Wis., Aug. 10, 2024. The combat water survival event tested participants' ability to remain calm in a stressful situation while fatigued. The JOTC selection gauntlet — the first event of its kind in the Wisconsin Army National Guard — determined which members of the WIARNG are most prepared for and likely to graduate from the JOTC in Hawaii based on successful completion of physical and mental tasks.
