U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Taysha Wellington, 4th Healthcare Operations Squadron aerospace medical service technician, simulates medically clearing a military child dependent for an “OPERATION Bug Out” kids’ deployment at a pre-deployment function line located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, Aug. 16, 2024. During the event, child dependents ages five and older learned about a variety of ways their parents maintain readiness and visited various locations including a pre-deployment function line and the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron’s fire station. The mock deployment is an opportunity for the 4th Fighter Wing to impart education and insight to child dependents and provide a glimpse of what deployments mean for military parents.
