U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 11th Airborne Division, the “Arctic Angels,” jump through the mockup of a C-17 door before an award ceremony at Malemute Drop Zone at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 16, 2024. The competition was for squads to land as close to targets on the drop zone as possible. Each team member’s distance from the target was measured, and the team with the lowest total score – closest to target – was declared the winner.
