The unit has played a vital role in preserving the nation's freedom throughout nearly every major war to present day. The unit's distinctive insignia, a winged centaur courant armed with a bow and arrow, is emblazoned with the Latin motto "CELER ET AUDAX," which translates to "Swift and Bold."
