Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Michelle Quarles, the former 38th Infantry Division Headquarters Battalion senior enlisted leader, accepts an award from Command Sgt. Maj. William Almodovar during Quarles' retirement ceremony at Indiana National Guard headquarters in Indianapolis, Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024. Quarles, who served as the battalion's senior enlisted leader from 2021 to 2024, served more than 32 years in the Indiana Army National Guard. “I have accomplished so many things and have very fond memories from my 32 years of service. As challenging at times as it was, I would do it all over again, I would choose to serve. I have the upmost confidence and continued success and excellence of this team, in the future,” said Quarles during her speech.
