The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, works with State and Local partners to renourish beaches that meet environmental, safety, and storm risk reduction needs. The sun rises behind one of the pavilions on the recently nourished Flagler Beach. In the implementation, sand fences, dune vegetation, and post and rope installations will be in the next few weeks. Florida beaches gross 101.9 billion dollars in economic impact, but more importantly, our coastlines are our frontlines in storm risk mitigation. (U.S. Army photo by Brigida I. Sanchez)
