U.S. Army Maj. Jose Martinez, officer-in-charge of Task Force Voit, 4th Battalion, 133rd Field Artillery Regiment, Texas Army National Guard, in support of 1st Cavalry Division, receives the Estonian Defence Medal from the Estonian Defense Minister, Hanno Pevkur, during an award ceremony at Camp Tapa, Estonia, Sept. 4, 2024. Task Force Voit soldiers received the medal alongside French and British troops for their service to Estonia. The 1st Cavalry Division’s mission is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, strengthening interoperability with NATO allies and regional security partners, which provides competent and ready forces to V Corps, America’s forward-deployed corps in Europe.
