Armada de Chile, Infanteria de Marina (Chilean Marines) conduct a live fire range in Light Armored Vehicles, at Expeditionary Advanced Base North, on September 5, 2024, while participating in UNITAS 2024. Chilean Marines trained alongside Marines from 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, sharing tactics and techniques for the employment of LAVs. The LAV supports all-weather, sustained reconnaissance, counter-reconnaissance and security operations. UNITAS which is Latin for “unity”, was conceived in 1959 and has taken place annually since first conducted in 1960.
