U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jose Olverabermudez, an aviation ordinance technician with Aviation Combat Element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, pulls the detonation pin from a M81 Igniter during test fuse burn training aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), in the Indian Ocean, Sept. 6, 2024. The training was conducted to sustain and sharpen Marines’ proficiency in proper explosive ordinance handling. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
