Nine-year-old Houston native Neil Sawh sits with San Francisco native Lt. Col. Jay Miseli (right), the commander for 1st Squadron, 7th “Garryowen” Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, in the back of an M3A3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle, Feb. 8, at the squadron headquarters at Fort Hood, Texas. Sawh, who has been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, spent the day with Garryowen. Miseli appointed Sawh deputy squadron commander for the day.
