A grave marked unknown is displayed at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii, Sept. 9, 2024. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) personnel disinterred eight caskets as part of the agency’s Korean War Identification Project (KWIP). KWIP is the agency's efforts to identify missing personnel lost during the Korean War. The caskets were transferred to a DPAA laboratory, where they will undergo further scientific analysis and possible identification. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kathy Duran)
