    U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st Class David Leyva, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) short term individual augmentee and recovery team medic, stands watch during a repatriation ceremony in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Sept. 10, 2024. The ceremony marked the end of the joint field activity and this iteration’s efforts to recover unaccounted-for personnel from the Vietnam War. During the ceremony, team members and Socialist Republic of Vietnam officials transferred possible osseous material to DPAA for potential identification at the DPAA laboratory on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
