Army Capt. Lonnie R. Buatte, a critical care nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at 325th Combat Support Hospital, Camp Al Asad, holds hands reassuringly with 16-year-old Marwan Ahmad Mohammed, an Iraqi boy who was injured by mortar fire a year ago. He came to the hospital for help from coalition forces. His brother and the staff at the hospital have been doing everything they can for him, despite their cultural differences. "When (the patients) come to us, they don't know anything about us," said Buatte, from St. Louis, Mo. "Some may have a stigma about us but we let them know right away that we really do care." Marwan has gone through several surgeries already to get him stable again. His injuries have left most of his body paralyzed and one of his lungs had to be removed. (U.S. Marine Corps photo/Cpl.
