Here, Shylenko is performing an ultrasonic inspection to determine the thickness of a piece of equipment. Ultrasonic inspections are a nondestructive testing method that looks for delamination, or moisture between the layers of a piece of equipment. This moisture can cause the layers to separate and result in damaged and unsafe equipment.
