U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Daniel Jernigan, the commanding officer of Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, and fellow Marine leaders walk away from a CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing during Exercise Fuji Viper at Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji, Japan, Sept. 18, 2024. This iteration of the exercise provided Marines with the opportunity to train in Forward Arming and Refueling Point operations. The purpose of conducting FARP operations is to establish a temporary facility that is capable of providing the fuel and ammunition necessary for the employment of aviation units.
