    U.S. Army Maj. Joseph Fontana (middle), an U.S. Army Advisor and armor officer assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Security Forces Assistance Brigade, escorts Brazilian Army 2nd Lt. Arthur Florentino, both assigned to 52nd Jungle Infantry Battalion, 23rd Jungle Infantry Brigade, to the combined artillery rehearsal held at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Johnson, La., Aug. 22, 2024.

    The 1st SFAB, based at Fort Moore, Ga., employed a four-person advisor team in support of a Brazilian Army element who participated in a large-scale bilateral military exercise with U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) from August 12 - 27, 2024.
    Strengthening the relationship with the Brazilian Army through this bilateral training exercise aims to have lasting impacts and improve our combined readiness with a valued partner nation. With their highly capable military serving as a model of professionalism, Brazil is a key player in enhancing security in South America.
