KOSRAE, Federated States of Micronesia (Sept. 20, 2024) – U.S. Army Maj. Gavin Devries, from San Jose, Calif., of the U.S. Army Reserve 351st Civil Affairs Command, inspects a weir chamber of a slow sand filter tank at Utwe Water Plant as part of a water purification subject matter expert exchange with members from the Kosrae local government during Pacific Partnership 2024-2 in Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia, Sept. 20, 2024. The exchange was conducted to inspect and assess different ways water is collected, treated and distributed to communities around Kosrae. Now in its 20th iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the U.S. Navy’s largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
