U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Marcus Holman, left, the oncoming Combat Logistics Company Bravo commander with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, receives the CLC-B guidon from Lt. Col. Alissa Tarsiuk, the commanding officer of CLB-31, 31st MEU, during a CLB-31 company standup ceremony, on Camp Hansen, Japan, Sept. 26, 2024. The standup ceremony formalized CLB-31’s commitment to the expectations illustrated in Force Design 2030, by activating two new companies for a total of four to evenly distribute its responsibilities and logistical capabilities as smaller, more expeditionary effective units for future operations and patrols. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
