A U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 87, undergoes preflight checks during Weapons System Evaluation Program-East 24.12 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, Sept. 17, 2024. The F/A-18E model was designed for traditional air superiority, fighter escort, reconnaissance, aerial refueling, close air support, forward air control, air defense suppression and day/night precision strike.
