Jake Tuer, Acting Captain on board the Baltimore District survey vessel CATLETT (left), and his brother Matthew, an activated Reservist with the US Coast Guard, were both involved with the Key Bridge response in different capacities as part of the Unifed Command. Jacob and his father Jeff (a former Baltimore District employee) have both operated the CATLETT, a 64-foot foil assisted catamaran, creating a multi-generational connection to the vessel and its role collecting critical survey data about the depth and channel conditions of shipping lanes throughout the Chesapeake region.
