U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Michael S. Cederholm, commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, congratulates a British Commando, a Personnel Exchange Program officer currently assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force, after receiving the Coronation Medal at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 30, 2024. “It’s a huge honor and a privilege to receive this medal from the commanding general and in front of the MEF staff. This will be a memory we will cherish for a very long time,” said the Commando. The King’s Coronation Medal is a commemorative award recognizing the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla in May 2023. This medal honors service members for their unwavering dedication to their nation. Additionally, it celebrates the deep bond between the Armed Forces and the monarchy, acknowledging the vital role that military personnel play in upholding national traditions and events.
