ATLANTIC OCEAN (September 20, 2024) - STEM subject matter experts from various Department of the Navy laboratories converged in Key West, Florida, to participate in the Scientists-to-Sea program and act as observers for the 2024 Hybrid Fleet Campaign Event aboard Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) in the Atlantic Ocean. The Hybrid Fleet Campaign Event utilizes U.S. 4th Fleet as the operational arm for Department of the Navy Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Experimentation Cell (DoN SEC) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic to field test unmanned, hybrid, and robotic systems in support of Chief of Naval Operations objectives.
