Leaders of 6-101 AVN "Shadow", 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), await a UH-60 Blackhawk to conduct personnel recovery during a battalion Leadership Professional Development (LPD) event, Sept. 18, 2024, Fort Campbell, Ky. The LPD included a weapons lane, an obstacle course, a litter carry, a ruck march, a one-rope bridge, a paintball competition, and a personnel recovery lane.
"The purpose of the LPD itself was to build cohesion with our new command teams within the Shadow battalion," said Lt. Col. Robert Wells, 6-101 commander.
"Over the last few months, most of our key leaders have swapped out and this allowed us to set conditions and standards and build esprit de corps in the unit. We focused on rigorous challenges to test our abilities through team building. It was a great experience to be able to rely on one another through this event. The cohesion and trust built during this LPD will help ensure a successful mission and unit teamwork during future deployments."
