U.S. Navy Lt. Ruth Rivera, a chaplain with Marine Wing Support Squadron 272, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, and an Overland Park, Kansas native, delivers a sermon during Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 1-25 in Yuma, Arizona, Oct. 5, 2024. Religious Ministry Teams are an integral part of WTI, engaging Marines throughout the exercise to remain resilient and mission ready, providing spiritual, emotional and moral care to all supporting agencies. Rivera explained her motivation to serve by saying, “It was a calling to make a difference in ways that others might not. It’s a journey that allows me to walk alongside service members through both their challenges and triumphs.” WTI 1-25 is an advanced seven-week course, which provides standardized tactical training and incorporates Marine Corps planning and implementation of air and ground tactics through a series of escalating evolutions, to support Marine aviation training and readiness.
