U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Alex Harlamor, commander, Joint Task Force-Florida and director of the joint staff, Florida National Guard, thanks U.S. Guardsmen assigned to the Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey and South Carolina National Guard as they prepare to depart from Camp Blanding, Florida, Oct. 13. The Guardsmen will be awarded the Florida State Active Duty ribbon following their assistance with the state of Florida's recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton. The Florida State Active Duty Ribbon is given for participation in a major tour of active state service in the aid of civil authorities by members of the National Guard.
