The white egret is a powerful symbol in many cultures, representing purity, new beginnings, and protection. Egrets perched on debris left by the passing of Hurricane Milton over the state of Florida. Beach projects are designed to absorb the brunt of storm/hurricane impacts to protect residents and critical infrastructure.

All Federal Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) projects are partnerships undertaken by USACE and a non-federal sponsor (NFS). (U.S. Army Photo by Brigida Sanchez)
