    USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71)

SAN DIEGO (Oct. 15, 2024) U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Daniel Cheever, commander, Naval Air Forces, speaks to the crew from the bridge of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) after the ship returned to San Diego following a scheduled nine-month deployment, Oct. 15, 2024. Theodore Roosevelt, the flagship of the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, returned to its homeport after conducting operations in the U.S. 3rd, 5th, and 7th Fleet areas of operation as part of a routine deployment in support of global maritime security operations. As an integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet operates naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides the realistic and relevant training necessary to execute the U.S. Navy’s timeless role across the full spectrum of military operations-from combat missions to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. U.S. 3rd Fleet works in close coordination with other numbered fleets to provide commanders with capable, ready forces to deploy forward and win in day-to-day competition, in crisis, and in conflict.
