    NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2024) – Ecuadorian Navy Cmdr. Oliver Dalgo (middle right), speaks to U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet Sailors after receiving a U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from Rear Adm. Carlos Sardiello, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet (right). Cmdr. Dalgo was recognized for his superior performance while serving as Inter-American Naval Telecommunications Network (IANTN) Assistant Secretary for Planning and Strategic Initiatives from May 2023 to October 2024. During his tour, Cmdr. Dalgo provided dedicated support to successful Specialized Inter-American Naval Conferences for Directors of Intelligence in Panama and for Superintendents of Naval Academies in Ecuador, respectively. Established in 1962, IANTN’s mission is to maintain a permanent link among naval authorities of the Americas. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet hosts the multi-national IANTN staff, which oversees IANTN detachments and operations centers in 19 partner nations in the Caribbean, Central and South America, and coordinates the biennial Inter-American Naval Conference (IANC).
