Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Ryan Swanson assigned to Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division, Technical Support Detachment (NAVEODTECHDIV TSD) Platoon 4, uses an AHURA First Defender to detect what chemicals are contained in a brown glass jar during an unknown chemical lab training exercise at the Stump Neck Annex at Naval Support Facility Indian Head. NAVEODTECHDIV TSD is a unique support command administered by the U.S. Navy and used by all the armed services to collect, process, exploit and analyze enemy improvised explosive devices, weapons and related materials to provide near real-time technical intelligence to tactical commanders and explosive ordnance disposal forces.
