Soldiers assigned to the 88th Readiness Division Casualty Operations Team, conduct funeral honors for the reinterment of U.S. Army Medal of Honor Recipient Cpl. Thomas Powers, at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan, Oct. 15, 2024. Powers, who served as a Cavalryman with the 1st Cavalry Regiment, Company G, during the Indian Wars, fought in 12 separate engagements against the Apache War Chiefs Cochise, and Goyahkla (Geronimo) spanning from 1867 to 1871 and became a recipient of the Medal of Honor for gallantry in action.
