    New York National Guard

    New York Air National Guard Airmen assigned to the 109th Airlift Wing prepare to depart from Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, New York to Christchurch, New Zealand on board LC-130H ski-equipped aircraft as the wing begins its annual mission to support science in Antarctica on October 17, 2024. The wing, which flies the largest ski-equipped planes in the world, will deploy five LC-130Hs to McMurdo Station, Antarctica and will rotate 400 Airmen through the mission from October to February 2025.
