U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Robin B. Stillwell, director of joint staff, South Carolina National Guard, Chaplain (Lt. Col.) John Denny, state chaplain, South Carolina National Guard, Staff Sgt. Jimmy Townsend, marketing non-commissioned officer, and Sgt. Josef M. Robinson, commander, Richland County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard, participated in the sixth annual Run for the Fallen ceremony held at the steps of the South Carolina State House, Columbia, South Carolina, Oct. 18, 2024. The Run for the Fallen is an organized tribute event where participants begin their journey at the State House in Columbia, South Carolina and run 122 miles to Patriots Point, Mount Pleasant South Carolina. Runners will stop along the route at markers with the name of every South Carolinian fallen service member who died as a result of serving from any circumstance during the War on Terror.
