Col. Bart Daly speaks about how the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team staff could "solve any problem" during his promotion ceremony. Daly was promoted to colonel on Oct. 19 at the Illinois Army National Guard's Urbana Armory. He serves within the Illinois National Guard’s Joint Staff as the Director of Military Support and has been selected as the Illinois National Guard’s Human Resource Officer starting in January. Daly is a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan deploying to Iraq from 2008 to 2009 as part of a Military Transition Team with the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division and then to Afghanistan from 2019 to 2020 as the executive officer of the Illinois Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry Regiment. He would take command of the 1-178th Infantry in 2021.
