An instructor with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Wildland Firefighter Academies, teaches Washington National Guard service members to use tools to make a fireline as part of a wildlife firefighter certification training in Ahtanum State Forest, Wash., Oct. 20, 2024. Fire lines are used during wildfires to contain and prevent fire from spreading.
