YORKTOWN, Va. (September 19, 2024) Ensign Sayd Hussain, Construction Manager assigned to Naval Weapons Station Yorktown’s Public Works Department, renders honors during the annual Yorktown Day Parade while marching as part of a composite group of Sailors assigned to the installation. The event commemorates the end of the Siege of Yorktown which occurred on October 19, 1781. On that day, British Forces surrendered to a combined force of American Continental Army and French Army Troops. This decisive surrender ultimately paved the way for America’s independence from Great Britain. (U.S. Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
