U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Navy Region Hawaii and the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) conduct an interment ceremony held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, Oct. 25, 2024. DPAA and other attendees paid their respects and honored the life of U.S. Navy Fireman 1st Class Edward Dale Johnson, who was assigned to the Nevada-class battleship USS Oklahoma (BB-37) when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft during World War II. Oklahoma sustained multiple torpedo hits, which caused it to quickly capsize. Johnson was accounted for on Sept. 29, 2020. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Stephen Holland)
