U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jeremiah Vazquez, a transmissions system operator with Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, uses a radio during a command-and-control exercise as part of Keen Sword 25 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 23, 2024. Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36, rehearsed radio and other tactical communication methods to communicate with higher and adjacent units in austere environments. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan alliance.
