U.S. civilian contractors calibrate a group 3 unmanned aerial system in preparation for a test flight hosted by U.S. Marines from the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit air operations at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Oct. 22, 2024. The 22nd MEU held a test flight on Oct. 22 and a demonstration on Oct. 23 as part of an initiative to employ an expeditionary group 3 UAS platform with modernized capabilities to enhance the 22nd MEU information, surveillance, and reconnaissance operational requirements, organic mobility, and further enable the 22nd MEU to serve as an expeditionary crisis response force while forward deployed.
