DANISH STRAITS (Oct. 28, 2024) Lt. j.g. Benjamin Shirey, a native of Opelousas, Louisiana, holds a man rope on a rigid-hull inflatable boat as it is lowered into the water from the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG 64) during small boat operations off the coast of Denmark, Oct. 28. Gettysburg, assigned to The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG), is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations supporting U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
