(Oct. 26, 2024) – Operationally integrating proven robotic systems for routine use by commanders, a small unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV) assigned to Undersea Unmanned Vehicle Group One, Detachment Little Creek, is lowered for undersea operation from the hull of the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Hampton (SSN-767). The mission combined manned and unmanned teams, integrating autonomous capabilities towards the future hybrid fleet. This mission continued to further define the roles small UUVs will play in expanding the reach and lethality of conventionally manned fleets. (Courtesy Photo)
