Connecticut Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Connor Ericson, a CH-47 helicopter repairer assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 104th Aviation Regiment, lifts the front end of a helicopter bucket as other soldiers push it up the ramp of a CH-47F Chinook transport helicopter at the Connecticut Army National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, Oct. 24, 2024. The helicopter bucket was loaded in the cargo hold of the aircraft for the flight from Windsor Locks to the site of the fires in Berlin. Once landed at a makeshift helicopter landing zone adjacent to the fires, the crew chiefs sprung into action and quickly assembled the bucket and sling loaded it underneath the aircraft.
