The change of command ceremony for the 169th Airlift Squadron, Illinois Air National Guard, in which U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Jeffery Herrmann relinquished command of the unit to Lt. Col. Jason Hurt at the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria, Illinois, Nov. 2, 2024. The 169th squadron flies the C-130 aircraft which is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for airdropping troops and equipment into hostile areas.
