Gabby Gardner, Field Representative for U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, met with Col. Sam Preston, BACH commander, and other members of the Blanchfield team Wednesday, Oct. 30. During her visit Col. Preston shared the seven-state service area BACH supports in logistics, medical, and readiness services, including a primary care clinic on Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois and an occupational health clinic and oversight of Soldier Readiness Processing at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
Gardner was able to learn about BACH’s Women’s Health team ranking as the second to third largest hospital delivering babies in the Defense Health Agency. Women’s Health also provides care to women veterans. Chief of Emergency Medicine Maj. Josef Jessop provided Gardner a tour through the hospital’s 28-bed Emergency Center, while sharing the average daily patient visits of 120. In addition, primary care leaders, Fort Campbell VA Clinic head nurse, and Behavioral Health leaders all provided key information of the services they offer Fort Campbell beneficiaries.
