U.S. Coast Guard members from local units volunteer at the Battleship Iowa in San Pedro, California, October 24, 2024. The members completed deck work as part of the service project for the Eight Bells ceremony, a maritime tradition honoring cutterman and sailors from all the sea services, by ringing the cutter’s bell eight times to honor the watchstanders who served on duty and recognize and a member as a new cutterman.
