ILLESHEIM, Germany – U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach and the town of Illesheim celebrated their longstanding relationship and friendship by planting a “Partnership Tree” in Illesheim, Nov. 7.
USAG Ansbach Garrison Commander, Col. Aaron Southard, and Illesheim Mayor Roland Scheibenberger, planted an American amber tree in Illesheim’ s Schlosstrasse park.
“We have a long legacy of friendship and partnership with Illesheim creating a “home away from home” for our military families and this tree represents that bond,” Southard said. “Growing and strengthening over time, representing a healthy future for generations to come.”
Illesheim has been home to generations of Soldiers and their families, who have enjoyed decades of German-American meals and events where the Partnership Tree now stands.
