U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Roger B. Turner, commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force, passes cake to the oldest and youngest Marine during the 249th Marine Corps Birthday ceremony at the Butler Officers’ Club, Plaza Housing, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 8, 2024. The Marine Corps Birthday is celebrated by Marines all around the world every year on Nov. 10. The final event of the ceremony is the cake-cutting ceremony which signifies the passing of time-honored traditions from the older generation to the younger generation.
