U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Phillip Sapp, a water support technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, assemble a light-weight water purification system during a CLB-31 field exercise at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 5, 2024. The water purification system provided a drinkable water supply during a range of simulated combat operations and training exercises. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
