U.S. Army Reserve Master Sgt. Cassandra Ortiz, an operations noncommissioned officer with the 7th Mission Support Command prepares to run a play during the second annual Army vs. Navy flag football shadow game hosted by the 7th MSC, Saturday, Nov. 2., 2024, at Daenner Kaserne in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
The 7th MSC team played against local Navy personnel, building camaraderie across military branches and components in the Kaiserslautern Military Community.
“I had a blast playing flag football in the Army vs. Navy game,” said Ortiz. “It was a great experience seeing how quickly we could come together, communicate effectively, and work as a team, even though a few of us had never worked together before."
She went on to elaborate on the value outside of military skills like how to shoot, move and communicate.
“Events like this are incredibly valuable; they build camaraderie and sharpen our teamwork skills under fun but challenging circumstances. I’d definitely say it’s something the command should keep doing – it strengthens bonds and boosts morale across the board."
The 7th Mission Support Command is the U.S. Army Reserve presence in Europe.
